Romania has become more attractive then more developed countries
In the first quarter of 2016, according to the General Inspectorate for Immigration, in Romania were registered a total of 109,814 foreign nationals.
Romania has become a more attractive destination for expats, according to the Expat Insider 2016 survey, carried out by expat community network InterNations.
Expat Insider is one of the largest expat surveys worldwide. It offers an in-depth analysis of everyday life of professionals who live abroad in more than 60 countries across the globe. More than 14,000 respondents representing 174 nationalities and 191 countries took part and had their say on moving, living and working abroad.
Romania which was included in the ranking for the first time in 2015, moved up from place 27th to 16th, in this year’s ranking of the most attractive destinations for expats.
Bucharest, the capital of Romania, has ranked 172nd this year among the most expensive cities for expats in the world, up from the 178th place in 2015.
As an expat you will find that accommodation in Bucharest comes in a variety of forms in different neighborhoods and you can consider a few of them more appealing considering the population density and ethnicity, traffic and transportation, proximity to nature, shopping centers and nightlife.
Expats have different requirements when it comes to find the right place. Younger expats may want to be closer to nightlife hotspots, while expats with families may prefer quiet suburbs on the city. Bucharest’s downtown neighborhoods offer all the benefits of restaurants, galleries, theatres and the energetic atmosphere that comes from living in the middle of the city.
